ADHD CAN LOOK DIFFERENT

A capable woman.
A complicated day.
Both can be true.

You might be the person who handles a crisis beautifully but feels defeated by an inbox. The one with a dozen ideas and a pile of unfinished projects. Or the one who gets things done, but only after a deadline turns everything urgent.

ADHD can affect attention, organization, impulse control, and activity levels. In adults, restlessness may be more noticeable than obvious hyperactivity.

Some women reach adulthood without ADHD being recognized. If you’re starting to wonder about your own patterns, we can explore them with curiosity and care.

PATTERNS WORTH TALKING ABOUT

There’s more to the story
than a forgotten appointment.

Attention and follow-through

  • Getting distracted during tasks or conversations
  • Difficulty finishing projects
  • Losing track of belongings or daily responsibilities
  • Struggling to organize tasks and manage time

Activity and impulses

  • Feeling restless or needing to keep moving
  • Interrupting before you mean to
  • Making quick decisions you later reconsider
  • Difficulty slowing down or waiting your turn

A list can start a conversation; it cannot establish a diagnosis. We look at how persistent these patterns are, where they show up, and how they affect your life.

YOUR EXPERIENCE MATTERS

Good grades
don’t tell
the whole story.

Women’s ADHD symptoms can be overlooked in childhood. Structure and support may help someone manage for years, until the demands of adult life make difficulties harder to navigate.

In our conversation, there’s room for both what you’ve achieved and what it has cost you to keep up. We can talk about the systems you rely on, the parts of your day that feel unmanageable, and the support you wish you’d had earlier.

Your current season matters, too. We can discuss changes in sleep, stress, your menstrual cycle, or perimenopause without assuming every concentration problem has the same explanation.

A THOUGHTFUL ADHD EVALUATION

We look at the pattern.
And the person.

YOUR HISTORY

Start with
your story.

Adult ADHD assessment considers current difficulties, childhood symptoms before age 12, and functioning across settings. We’ll discuss your experiences at home, school, work, and in relationships.

YOUR CONTEXT

Leave room for
other explanations.

Sleep problems, anxiety, depression, and other health concerns can overlap with attention difficulties. Your medical history and previous treatment help us consider what fits and whether more assessment is needed.

YOUR QUESTIONS

Make the
next step clear.

Bring prior evaluation records or treatment information if you have them. We’ll discuss what we understand, what remains uncertain, and whether additional information, testing, or a referral would be useful.

COLLABORATIVE ADHD TREATMENT

A plan that fits
your real life.

If ADHD is part of your picture, treatment may include medication, psychotherapy, and practical support for everyday routines. We’ll discuss your priorities and options together.

Medication decisions are individualized. My approach includes a conversation about benefits, risks, your health history, and your preferences, with follow-up to review how you’re doing. An evaluation does not guarantee a particular diagnosis or prescription.

We can also discuss strategies for organization and follow-through, and therapy or other referrals when appropriate. The conversation stays focused on what would make daily life more manageable for you.

QUESTIONS ARE WELCOME

You don’t need
to be certain
to ask.

Can ADHD be diagnosed in adulthood?

Yes. Diagnosis in adulthood includes looking for symptoms that began in childhood, even if they were not recognized then. We’ll discuss your history as well as your current concerns.

What if I did well in school?

Academic success alone does not answer the question. We look at your overall pattern, the support you had, and how symptoms affected different parts of your life.

What if I already have an ADHD diagnosis?

Bring your previous evaluation and medication history if available. We can review them, discuss your current needs, and consider next steps.

Will medication be part of my care?

That depends on the evaluation, your health history, and your goals. We discuss options together. No specific medication is promised before assessment.

Can appointments be online?

Yes, when you are physically located in Texas, New Mexico, Washington, or Delaware. In-person appointments are also available in Lubbock, Texas.
